Let's face it, Hurricane Matthew, at no time did what the experts said it would. They said it would landfall in Florida. It didn't. Then they said it wouldn't landfall. It did. They said it would loop. It didn't.
Seems to me, when it comes to Hurricanes, the experts should go back to basics. Give a general idea of what it could do, then keep track of the storm and alert people what it is doing. And please, do away with using male names. Men are much more easier to figure out than women. That is not intended to be a statement of denigration, but of fact. In fact, name them after cats. Cats are the most unpredictable animals in the world. After all there are cat-egories of Hurricanes.
Give a cat a new comfortable bed and it will sleep in a cardboard box. Well, figure out what a Hurricane will do, it is most certain to do something else. This one sure did. The so called "cone of uncertainty" should be a sphere of uncertainty, since you can never be certain of what a Hurricane will do.
That's my take.

Well said Tom. My friends in FL where so worried even though my friends in St. Augustine got major floods but other then that the weather folks scared to many people.
