NO BIG STORMS by Tom Lineaweaver Just looked at several maps, and I really can't see any major storminess for the next 7 days here in Pennsylvania. After that there might be something that seems more promising for the 17-20 time frame. Unfortunately the cold air will be mostly to our North. We would need some mechanism to bring that cold air down like a High Pressure center to out Northeast.
Some have forecasted January to be colder and snowier. Sorry snow lovers, I just don't see it, at least not in the next 7-10 days.
There will be storminess coming at us from the Northwest, but that doesn't bode well for major storms in Pennsylvania. Major storms for Pennsylvania come from the South. And there is nothing from the South for at least the next week.
We will have the potential for snow, sleet and freezing rain from these Northern storms.
The National Weather Service is forecasting snow on Saturday. Temps on Saturday will remain below 32, here is Central Pennsylvania. I will be watching for this, but so far I don't see where it's coming from.
Enjoy the weather.
