Going along with the potential storm around Oct 18-20, the potential is there for our first real cold spell of this fall. The latest teleconnections are showing a strong +PNA/-NAO signal right around Oct 18-19, lasting for several days before weakening. There will already be cold air in place over southern Canada during next week, and any potential low pressure late next week may be capable of pulling this cold air down into the East Coast. This is still uncertain as it's in the longer range, but it's something that needs to be watched.
